Brunswick Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 lb. chicken (fryer)
  • 16 oz. pork (cooked & stredded)
  • 16 oz. can tomatoes
  • 16 oz. lima beans
  • 5 potatoes (peeled & diced)
  • 16 oz. whole kernel corn
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 3 stalks celery (diced)
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. tomato ketchup
  • 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp. pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce (or to taste)

Directions: Rinse whole fryer & remove giblets from chicken. Add water to cover well. Add diced onion & celery & cook with chicken until chicken is done. Remove cooked chicken from chicken stock & let cool. Remove meat from chicken into bite size pieces. Add chicken & remaining ingredients to chicken stock. Cook until all ingredients are done. Add more water or additional chicken broth to stew if needed.
